Snarky Puppy, one of the hottest jazz and R&B bands on the planet, will now headline the SFJAZZ Gala AfterJam with special guest David Crosby in Miner Auditorium. Bringing their mix of Indian bhangra meets Crescent City funk, Red Baraat will join the AfterJam with a full set performance in Joe Henderson Lab. The AfterJam is the after party for the SFJAZZ Gala 2017 honoring Zakir Hussain and celebrating our 5th Anniversary Season in the SFJAZZ Center.
SFJAZZ is deeply saddened by the recent passing of Sharon Jones, who was originally scheduled to perform with the Dap-Kings at this year’s SFJAZZ Gala AfterJam. Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings helped us open the SFJAZZ Center in 2013 and we were highly anticipating their return. We send our heartfelt condolences to Sharon Jones’ family, friends, the Dap-Kings, and her fan base. If you purchased tickets for Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings and have questions, please contact email@example.com or 415-283-0342.

Winner of the 2016 Grammy for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album, Snarky Puppy plays what it likes to call “music for your brain and booty.” For this special performance at the SFJAZZ Gala AfterJam party, Snarky Puppy will be joined by legendary Byrds, and Crosby, Stills & Nash founder David Crosby in one of their only live appearances together, where they will bring their distinct vibe to some of David Crosby's classic songs.
Red Baraat is the genre bending Brooklyn octet that whips up a raucously fun mix of Indian bhangra rhythms, go-go music, jazz, hip-hop and Crescent City brass funk. Red Baraat will close out the All-Star Gala Concert and will perform for the AfterJam in the Joe Henderson Lab.
