Curry Munchers, a Mahayana Films production, follows the story of Sid (Aunanda Naidoo), an Indian migrant recently arrived in New Zealand, who is trying to fit in with the crowd. Fitting in, however, is not easy for a boy used to the high life in his home country! Instead of following his parents' wishes to study hard to become an engineer, Sid goes behind their backs and gets a part-time job at a restaurant to earn money to give him the independence he craves.

There he meets Kiwi girl Mary (Alison Titulaer), wannabee Bollywood actor Sheik (Rageev Varma) and amiable Pandeep (Tarun Mohanbhai), who all encourage him to uncover his passion for cooking, which Sid has no intention of doing.

However Sid’s plans take a surprise twist when he and the kitchen crew have to come to the rescue of the failing restaurant, by entering a cook-off competition, which leads to deceiving his parents, conflict over girls, cultural stereotyping and revealing home truths - all with hilarious results!
