Art of Excellence & Bliss: An Ensemble of Odissi & Folk Dance
An incredible dance performance by 8 professionally trained young orphan girls living in Adruta Children's Home, an orphanage in Bhubaneswar. Having performed across India, Singapore and other parts of the world and having recieved great accolades, now they are on their way to USA. This is the first time ever they will be performing in Bay Area. Join us in this journey through the dances of Odisha and support us to raise funds for the orphanage.
ABOUT ADRUTA CHILDREN"S HOME - The Adruta Home has been taking in orphaned and deserted girls from Odisha state since 1998. It now supports 440 plus children at 11 centers across Odisha. Relying on the kindness of strangers and government grants, the Home provides not just shelter and education to these girls, but also nurtures them lovingly through art, dance, poetry and music. But it does face finanacial challenges to sustain what it has built and grow.
The Adruta dancers, from Odisha, India, have a unique inspiring story that is spreading around the world. With commitment, passion, and full of vibrant energy and love, these dancers are a true inspiration. The girls have dazzled audiences across India and the US with their heartwarming and unique style of Odissi fused with folk dance. For more info visit www.adrutahome.org
Our fundraising target, above expenses, is $15,000. We appeal to you to open your hearts to support the humanitarian cause of the Center that is managed by one of the most dedicated and selfless teams. Many of us in the Bay Area have visited the Center at Bhubaneswar, Odisha and were truly impressed by its activities, but noticed it badly needs financial support. Help us to preserve and enhance this great humanitarian and cultural effort. Tax benefit donation checks (with a memo "For Adruta") can be written to NDCF (Nargis Dutt Cancer Foundation), a 501c3 charitable organization and mailed to NDCF, PO Box 3581, Fremont, CA 94539.
