On Sunday, October 5th, 2025, Arohana Arts Academy—an arts education organization dedicated to preserving and promoting Fine Arts, Music, and the rich cultural heritage of India—will be hosting the Oottukkadu Venkata Kavi (OVK) Aradhana in collaboration with SciArt Services, Acharyanet, and Shri Shadjam Music Academy.
OVK, a composer of time transcending brilliance and encyclopedic erudition is said to have lived circa 1700-1765. “Oottukkadu Venkata Kavi, a composer of time-transcending brilliance and encyclopedic erudition, is said to have lived approximately between 1700-1765. The volume of his multi-dimensional creations is only matched by the depth of his knowledge and exemplary attitude. He was a consummate master of melody, rhythm, meter, poetry, dance, drama, epics, mythology, cultural history and geography who was at equal ease in Sanskrit as well as Tamil.” (For more info please check out venkatakavi.org)
This festival is a tribute to this iconic composer and is slated to become an annual tradition in the Bay area and expected to draw audiences from all over the country. This year, we are planning on a Grand Concert by Sangeet Samrat Shri Chitravina Ravikiran, and Andhra’s octogenarian legend - Padma Shri Awardee Dr. Yella Venkateswara Rao along with Vidushi B V Durga Bhavani and Bay Area’s own Vidwan Hemmige V Srivatsan at: Aria University, 1521 California Cir, Milpitas, CA.
