Oakland Diwali Celebration - hosted by Oakland Councilmember Janani Ramachandran
Every year, thousands in the Indian and South Asian community in the U.S. celebrate Diwali, the Festival of Lights, a holiday that focuses on bringing light to darkness and peace to our world. Councilmember Ramachandran will be hosting a Diwali celebration this November to share in the celebration and uplift the Nepali community in Oakland. We will be highlighting Motherland Nepal, a local non-profit, which works to support Nepali and South Asian immigrants through emergency relief, organizing, and education.
