Description
Silicon Valley Sarbojonin Durgotsav celebrates its 10th Durga Puja on Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25, 2026, at Newark Middle School, Newark, CA. Free entry, free parking, and everyone is welcome — no membership required.
Join families from Fremont, Newark, Union City, Milpitas, San Jose and across the Bay Area for two full days of Durga Pujo.
Both days: • Pushpanjali, Ashtami Maha Aarti, Sandhi Puja with 108 diya, Kumari Puja and Sindoor Khela — open to all, members and non-members alike • A full cultural programme performed entirely by local Bay Area artists — dance, music, recitation, band, fashion show and theatre, from three-year-olds to grandparents. No outside celebrity; our stage belongs to our own. • Fashion show, Bong-Couple Contest, Mythology Quiz for children, and community Dhunuchi Naach • Food fiesta — lunch bhog on both days, plus kathi rolls, phuchka, kosha mangsho, dosa and a full sweets counter - all to purchase • Shopping bazaar — sarees, jewellery, handicrafts and festive gifts from Bay Area sellers
What makes ours different: our puja is conducted by a Woman Priest, and non-members are welcome inside the rituals themselves.
Entry has always been free, and always will be. Parking is free too.
