Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan – his legacy, his music

A tribute by Riyaaz Qawwali Ensemble

The 
lead of the ensemble, Sonny, first heard Utsad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan in the late 90s and that set his own musical journey. Riyaaz Qawwali 
ensemble has performed qawwali for thirteen years across the globe, released two albums, been covered by NPR, Huffington Post, and had their 
music heard at The White House. For this IAA’s specially commissioned concert, the ensemble will be supplemented by musicians on octapad 
drums, guitar , and saxophone.
