Schooner sailing under Golden Gate Bridge
Schooner Seaward is docked at the US Army Corps of Engineers Bay Model Pier at 2100 Bridgeway in Sausalito, CA. Visitors can type "US Army Corps of Engineers Bay Model Visitor Center" into Google Maps for a driving route. Please do not use "Call of the Sea", which directs visitors to our mailing address and our office address, not the boat. We recommend mapping your route to the US Army Corps of Engineers Bay Model Pier ahead of time to ensure on-time arrival for your sailing adventure.
Why Call of the Sea?
We're a nonprofit supporting on-the-water environmental education. During the week, we host field trips for K-12 classes from around the Bay Area and beyond. Community Sails are a great way to share our mission with new people and to help lower costs for youth educational sails.
If you are interested in youth field trips, please check out our website.
Schooner Seaward is docked at the Bay Model Pier (outside the US Army Corps of Engineers Bay Model Visitor Center). The location is tricky to navigate to because there are some one-direction roads leading up to the Bay Model Visitor Center parking lot. Please use Google maps to navigate to this location ahead of time, so you are not trying to find it at the last minute before your sail departs.
What to Bring
While we do offer light refreshments, please feel welcome to bring a reusable water bottle to ensure you stay hydrated.
Please dress in layers. We suggest guests bring a windbreaker, warm base layer, gloves, hat, scarf, sunglasses, and comfortable shoes. No high heels are permitted to minimize risk for injury.
Cameras are welcome, but please be aware that water can sometimes splash aboard and protect your equipment accordingly.
Free parking is available in the US Army Corps of Engineer Bay Model Visitor Center lot (see Google maps). The schooner Seaward is at the end of the pier. There will be an escort to walk you down the pier past the gate.
Sailing on the San Francisco Bay is weather dependent. We sail in most weather, including cold, wind, fog, and light showers. On occasion, we will need to reschedule a sail due to extreme wind or rain. If this is necessary, you will be notified within at least 24 hours of the scheduled sail and we will work with you to reschedule or refund your order. Our captains monitor the most sophisticated weather channels and make every effort to bring you information in the timeliest manner. We apologize in advance if the weather complicates any special occasion plans.
A ticket is required for all passengers, including infants. Children 17 and under must be accompanied and supervised at all times by an adult.
