Led by legendary East Bay front woman Angela Coon (Toychestra, Ninewood) and visionary guitarist John Shiurba (Eskimo, Molecules), Kneel takes the music of Neil Young and pushes it through the meat grinder while maintaining the familiar melodic brilliance everyone knows. With arrangements that highlight not just the amazing harmonies and epic guitar solos, but also the slow-core beauty and the gritty underbelly of the music, Kneel can evoke both nostalgia and surprise. The band is capable of whisper quiet ballads and raucous improvisational freak outs. It’s nothing but a party on stage with local Bay Area musicians including Val Esway, Lexa Walsh, Thomas Scandura, Myles Boisen, Berge Thomasian and Paul Verke.
