Bay Area will be a amazing sight during this Christmas season, with festive decorations and bright lights illuminating the landmarks and neighborhoods.  Check out the dazziling light displays in Bay Area in 2017.

1. Jack London Square Christmas Tree

Location:- 245 2nd St Oakland, CA 94607

Admire a 55-foot Mount Shasta fir tree that is adorned with 5,000 sparkling lights on Oakland’s waterfront. Make it an evening, and grab dinner before strolling along the water afterward amid the highly contagious holiday cheer.


2. Illuminate SF Festival of Lights

Location:- 245 2nd St Oakland, CA 94607

Dates: Nov. 23-Jan. 1 starting at dusk

Now in its fifth year, this urban lights festival offers 38 eco-friendly displays that are all accessible by public transportation within San Francisco's 49 square miles. Pick a neighborhood to explore and take the free guided tour to learn more about the artists that have brought these installations to life. Traveling over the holidays via SFO? Check out the six permanent light installations at the airport.


3. Fantasy of Lights, Los Gatos

Location:- Vasona Lake County Park 333 Blossom Hill Road Los Gatos, CA

Dates: Dec. 5-30 (except Dec. 25)

Buy your ticket in advance (required) and enjoy your slow cruise through 1.5 miles of lights. Dinosaurs, pirate ships and all sorts of animals join Santa and his crew in the many light displays. Dec. 5-30 (except Dec. 25), 6-10 p.m. $20/car, $50/large vehicle with 12 people.


4. Holiday Circle of Lights​

Location:- 5000 Piedmont Ave Oakland, CA 94611

Dates: Dec. 5-30 (except Dec. 25)

Do not let the fact that this light display is in the Mountain View Cemetery deter you. The elaborate setup is at the front fountain, where glowing trees, trains, reindeer, skating figures, and scenes from Santa’s workshop light up the night..


5. Union Square​

Location:- Union Square San Francisco, CA 94108

There is nothing more classic San Francisco during the holidays than joining the maddening downtown crowds, and admiring Macy’s sky high Christmas tree in Union Square that brightens up the night with 43,000 LED lights.

A few feet away is the Macy’s building that does not skimp when it comes to holiday decorations, with all its windows and exterior ablaze with lights.


6. Widmer World, Pleasanton

Location:- 3671 Chelsea Court Pleasanton, CA

Date: Dec. 1–31, from 6– 9 p.m.

This local display is so popular, it has been featured in a nationally-televised show! Because of this, lights started going up in October and they'll probably offer a sneak peek around Thanksgiving. The tradition started in 1980 with a plastic Santa and some other run-of-the-mill decorations, but has since exploded into almost an acre of glittering lights which includes a mini Christmas village, computer animated displays and over a dozen scenes. No two years are alike and this year promises plenty of new additions.


7. Union Street Fantasy of Lights​

Location:- Union Street between Van Ness & Steiner, Fillmore Street from Union to Lombard
San Francisco, CA

Dates: Through Dec. 31

December 2 is the kick off for this month-long celebration of holiday cheer on Union Street in San Francisco's historic Cow Hollow neighborhood. Opening night includes holiday lights adorning the Victorian homes and shops, face painters, jugglers, live entertainment and photos with Santa. All month long you can enjoy special holiday happenings like store open houses and evening shopping under the lights.


8. Christmas Tree Lane, Palo Alto​

Location:- Fulton Street between Embarcadero Ave. and Seale Rd. Palo Alto, CA

Dates: Dec. 11-25. 5-11 p.m.

Christmas Tree Lane (or Fulton Street in the off-season) has been putting visitors in the Christmas spirit with their holiday lights display since the 1940s. For the two weeks leading up to Christmas you can drive or walk through this display to see carolers, vintage lawn displays and lights, lights and more lights.


9. Christmas Tree Lane​

Location:- 3200 Thompson Ave Alameda, CA 94501

This festive neighborhood block in Alameda features homes that go the distance decorating for the holidays. Each house has its unique holiday themes, and if you are lucky you might spot Santa strolling around.


10. McLaren Lodge Holiday Tree​

Location:- 501 Stanyan St San Francisco, CA 94117

Located at the eastern edge of Golden Gate Park, this holiday tradition will celebrate its 88th year this holiday season. Participate in the tree lighting ceremony on December 7th at 4p.m., which includes kids activities, live music, and even a visit from the old man himself.
